Information Sharing With Unaffiliated Third Parties

Unlike some other institutions, Beverly Hills Mortgage does not sell customer lists or other information about our customers to unaffiliated parties. Moreover, we do not in any manner share customer information with unaffiliated third parties except as described below or as otherwise expressly permitted by law.

In order to efficiently and cost-effectively market our own products, we contract with companies providing marketing and solicitation services, such as printers, marketing fulfillment firms and other companies. As part of these activities, we may provide limited information about our customers to such parties. In addition, we may occasionally engage in joint marketing with unaffiliated financial institutions for various financial products and services (such as credit life and disability insurance) that Beverly Hills Mortgage does not offer on its own, but we think will be of interest to our customers. In such cases, Beverly Hills Mortgage will always be identified in the joint marketing materials or solicitation. We may disclose all of the information we collect (described in "Information Collection" above) to the companies that perform marketing services on our behalf or to other financial institutions that have joint marketing agreements with us. Our agreements with these companies are subject to confidentiality provisions and restrictions that prohibit using the information beyond the performance of the specified services or in connection with the jointly marketed product or service.

Customer Identification Notice

The USA PATRIOT Act, a federal law, requires all financial institutions to obtain sufficient information to verify your identity when creating a new banking relationship. You may be asked several questions including your name, address and date of birth, and to provide one or more forms of identification to fulfill this requirement. In some instances, we require other identifying documents and/or use a third party information provider for verification purposes. Of course, our established Privacy Policy helps protect your personal information.

Beverly Hills Mortgage will protect the privacy of your personal and financial information. To guard your nonpublic personal information, we maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations.

For your protection, only you know your access codes - our employees cannot gain access to them and they will not ask you to reveal them.

The length of time we retain information varies depending on the product or service and the nature of the information. This period may extend beyond the end of your relationship with us but only for so long as it is legally necessary for us to have sufficient information to respond to any issue that may arise at a later date or as required by other regulatory agencies. When your information is no longer needed for the purposes explained to you, we have procedures to destroy, delete, erase or convert it to an anonymous form.

We update and test our technology regularly to ensure we maintain commercially reasonable standards in securing your financial privacy.

Encryption

Your password, information relating to your accounts and your enrollment are scrambled using some of the strongest forms of encryption commercially available for use over the World Wide Web.

How does encryption work?

Everything that travels through the Internet during your online session becomes a string of unrecognizable numbers before entering the Internet. Both Beverly Hill Mortgage's computers and the browser you use to surf the Web understand the mathematical formulas, called algorithms, which turn your information into numeric code and back again into meaningful information.

These algorithms serve as locks on the doors of your account information. And while Beverly Hill Mortgage and your computer can easily translate this code back to meaningful language, this process would be a daunting, almost impossible task for unauthorized intruders. That's because there are billions of possible keys that could potentially solve each formula; but only one that will work. Every time you begin an online information session, your computer and Beverly Hill Mortgage's systems agree on a random number that serves as the key for the rest of the conversation. What that random number is depends largely on the strength of encryption used by your browser.

Beverly Hill Mortgage ensures that all information transmitted via the internet is encrypted. If for any reason your secure session ends, your information session terminates.

For maximum protection, Beverly Hill Mortgage encourages you to use browsers offering 128-bit encryption. This is also known as high or strong encryption. It means there are 2128 possible keys that could fit into the lock that holds your account information. In other words, a hacker attempting to get to your account information would need to use a computer with exponentially more processing power than for 40-bit or 56-bit encryption to find the correct key.

All browsers provide detailed information on security levels. See your browser's help or documentation for more information.

How do I know if my information session is encrypted?

You can determine if encryption is being used on a given Web page by looking for the following icons in the lower portion of your browser:

Browser Secure Not Secure
Netscape Navigator or Communicator 4.0 or later
Microsoft Internet Explorer (any version) No Icon

Netscape Navigator displays the icon in the lower left corner of the browser. In addition, Netscape Communicator displays the icon in the navigation toolbar. Microsoft Internet Explorer displays the icon in the lower right corner of the browser.
